About
Vanesa Gomez (she/her) is a Philadelphia based theatre/performance artist!
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she fell in love with singing since she could babble, and when she found the stage, she realized she had found her passion. Coming from a very musical culture and family, it was no surprise that she fell in love with singing and performing. She is Mexican-Nicaraguan-American, and wears her culture with nothing less than pride. From singing mariachi music in family karaoke jam sessions to performing on stage, she carries that love of music and family with her in everything she does.
When she’s not performing, you can find her traveling or exploring the city of brotherly love with her favorite playlist on! If not obvious already, her favorite color is purple, and she’s an avid enthusiast for pineapple on pizza, dogs, and night showers.
Mission
“Growing up as a brown Latina, I rarely saw myself represented on stage. As I found my voice and my artistry, I have made it my mission to use my love for being on stage and doing what I love as a means of representation for those who share my background but don’t see themselves reflected. I am dedicated to my artistry and to being a representation for my fellow Latinx people, I am excited about being open and vulnerable in my work and I will only step into environments that serve me holistically.”
